Oregon Hospitality Firm Purchases Bend Resort | 07/11/2018

An 18-acre Bend resort has been sold to a longtime Oregon hospitality firm.

Oksenholt Hospitality Co. has purchased Mount Bachelor Village Resort from Brooks Resources Corp., the two companies jointly announced Tuesday. The purchase includes 100 percent of outstanding shares of Mount Bachelor Village Corp. and its subsidiaries.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

The resort was built beginning in the early 1970s, General Manager Diane Wilcox said. The resort has 278 housing units, including condominiums and single-family homes. Another 20 single-family cottages are in various stages of construction, she said.

The property also includes an events center, pools, spas and a children’s playground.

“The acquisition marketplace is extremely competitive and Mount Bachelor Village Resort is a special property,” Oksenholt Cos. CEO Jon Oksenholt stated in a news release. “We look forward to engaging the owners and employees of Mount Bachelor Village Resort, and to welcoming them to the Oksenholt family of companies.”

Lincoln City-based Oksenholt operates development, property management and acquisition businesses.

The resort had been owned by Brooks Resources for decades. Its president, Kirk Schueler, stated that Oksenholt Hospitality Co. shares a long-term vision for the resort.

“We knew we had found the right fit when we met with the Oksenholt team,” he stated.

Mount Bachelor Village Resort’s management and staff will remain in place, according to a news release issued by the two companies.

Despite the mountainous name, Mount Bachelor Village Resort is located within the city of Bend, close to downtown and the Old Mill District. The resort is 18 miles from the popular ski area.

Bend has been among the nation’s fastest-growing cities, with many new residents drawn by the dry climate and plentiful outdoor activities.
